Photo location map 11, photo no. 66. The hole in the foreground held one of the percolators. The percolators were dedicated either for caffeinated or decaffeinated coffee to avoid contamination. Each percolator had the potential to produce 120,000 pounds of coffee. The Soluble Building held five percolators, each one over 50 feet high.
Photograph was part of required federal and state documentation under the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) of the site by the property owners and developers, Maxwell Place on the Hudson. Demolition of these buildings commenced in June, 2004. See archives catalog 2004.042.0001 for more background and the source document. This digital scan was produced from an original photograph that was loaned for copying purposes.
