Photo location map 12, photo no. 79. Freeze dried operations took place in the Process Building. Packaging and processing of coffee was delivered as a slurry by hose from the percolators in the Soluble Building. The coffee was not full dried and it was laid out in thin sheets on an 80-foot long conveyor belt. the slurry moved slowly through the freezing process, manually cut with a butter knife, put into a plastic bag and placed on a rack. When the racks were full, the coffee was ground into crystals and put in a tote and brought back to the Manufacturing Building for packaging.
