DescriptionDrawing: Pen-and-ink drawing of the demolition of Stevens Hoboken Academy building by F. Guidici, Hoboken, no date, ca. late May, 1976. Pen-and-ink with wash on cream wove paper, 8-1/2" wide x 11" high; three hole punched at left. Signed by the artist. Reverse is blank, but due to water damage it has an unrelated photograph adhered to it. The view is northeast to the corner of Willow Avenue and Fifth Streets (street sign in foreground.) The demolition commenced on Friday, May 14th. In this drawing demolition is seen at the corner of Willow Avenue and 5th Sts. with artistic license taken with street curb seen going beyond the actual street corner. Donor of item is Helen Manogue who as a member of the Hoboken Environment Committee was quoted in a May 12, 1976 article about the impending demolition and the group's concerns about it.
