Diamond shaped cookie cutter stamped Davis Baking Powder. Issued by by R. B. Davis Co., Hoboken, no date, circa 1927. Formed and stamped metal, soldered, ca. 3-1/8" deep x 2-1/4" wide x 1" high.
This is a single cutter that came in a set of four in the shape of card suits (diamonds, spades, clubs and hearts.) Promoted in 1927 advertising as a set for 25 cents to make "party-cookies".
This was a promotional item for its main product, Davis OK Baking Powder, made in Hoboken during the time period this item was issued. They had can making facilities as part of manufacturing and packaging operations at least in the 1920s. Whether they made this cutter in Hoboken or had them made elsewhere by a contract vendor has not been determined.
