Clipping of published letter to Mayor & City Council from Board of Trustees, School for Industrial Education, Hoboken, May 8, 1901. Newspaper and publication date not indicated.
Text: Some years ago, when Mrs. Martha B. Stevens during her lifetime, together with the late John Stevens and Mr. Richard Stevens, donated twenty-six thousand dollars toward the erection of the Free Library building, it was understood that the portion thereof to be occupied by the Industrial Trustees should be permanently dedicated to the said Trustee by instrument in writing, over the signature of the Mayor. This has never been done, and our Board feels, in justice to the donors, that some action ought to be taken to that effect.
We should be pleased to confer...
Very repectfully yours, Edward Russ, President.
