Photograph
Black-and-white negative photo of the 1955 Hoboken Centennial Parade, Washington St., Hoboken, March 1955.
120 format negative. Photographer is not indicated, but is probably Eleanor Willington or family. None of the individuals are identified.
The view is looking northeast. This lead unit of female flag bearers and honor guard are marching south in the 200 block of Washington Street. In the background is the storefront of City Paint and Hardware which was then located at 227 Washington St.; Villa Roma Restaurant, 223 Washington St. which apparently was out-of-business or no longer located there as there is window signage for the grand opening of Singer's. Singer's, a grocery store at 219 Washington St., is at the right edge (facade sign not visible).
One of a group of 12 negatives from this source of images taken at the Sunday, March 27,1955 parade. Digital reference print on file.
