Entries, pencil and ink, by one month per line (called "Division" in previous books; a specific route such as "Hoboken - 33rd St.") Data was then recorded on it by date for the number of trains, total number of cars and monthly totals. It does not record times such as departure, arrival or length of trip although there are hand titled columns "Switching" and "Collections" which have hours and minutes in the columns. It does not include any financial information. It also does not state where this information was tallied. Some pages devoted to deadhead movements of "Class D & P.R.R. (Pennsylvania Railroad) cars" along with some Branch Services. Remarks at the bottom of leaves include schedule notes and changes including holidays, problems, P.R.R. (Pennsylvania Railroad) activity along with some Branch Services movements. Binding is a canvas cover over boards with cover title printed on cloth. Title is "Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, Local Service - Train Record." Sheets measure 13" high x 18" wide. Archives 2008.012.0071 to .0073 are a group of H&M train records with various dates (some overlapping), cover titles and contents.
