Inter/VIEW. A Monthly Film Journal. Volume 1, No. 1, (November) 1969. Published by a division of Poetry on Film, New York. Newsprint tabloid, 11-1/2" wide x 16-1/2" high; unpaginated, [28 pp.] Folded to 8" x 11-1/2" high for newstand display.
Display cover (lower half, rotated, of pg [28]) is a production still photo from film "Lions Love" showing James Rado and Gerome Ragni, Hoboken residents who created the musical HAIR, with the actress Viva reclining. Not identified in the cover caption is director Agnes Varda, who is the woman in the background.
On page [14] is an August 7, 1969 interview about "Lions Love" with its director, Agnes Varda, along with another photo of Ragni, Rado and Viva. (Rado was a character named "Jim" and Ragni was "Jerry.")
Founded by Andy Warhol (he is listed as an editor in this inaugural issue; no other credited work or item related to him appears in this issue) and his associates. See image of page [2.] This publication, Inter/View, later became titled "Interview Magazine."
