Although identified as Andrew Fletcher of the shipyard and marine engine builders W. & A. Fletcher, he is probably Andrew Fletcher, Jr., son of the founder Andrew Fletcher (who died in 1905) and father of Andrew Fletcher, III.
He is depicted at a drawing board with machine plans. A scroll on the floor is labeled: W. & A. Fletcher, Ship Engineers. Another scroll is labeled: Turbine Pioneers. A book is titled: Boat Machinery by Old Turbine. On the wall are views of two vessels: Hendrick Hudson and the Priscilla. A view out of a window shows the plant with a vessel named Yale at the dock.
