Color photograph of telephone pole on Hudson Street with Burczy poster, Hoboken, [2001].
Photograph by Robert Burczy. View is northeast towards Newark St. Archived on disk.
Statement made in 2006 by Burczy about this photo: PAUL DIVONE'S POLE. Divone, who inspired me very early on, is now long gone. His wood cuts were really everywhere. Whatever I was going to do, he was going to be hard to top. You could see his work near the PATH station. After a long while the spots that were rotting off I just used for my own [works.] The heart painting is mine and the way I looked at it was it was that it was something I wanted to see.
The wood telephone pole is on the west side of Hudson Street near numbers 76-78. The "Burczy" poster at the bottom: Burczy, Everything Art, East L.A., 506 (508) Washington St., Hoboken, August 16, 2001.
A reproduction was used in the exhibition, The Poster Art of Robert Burczy, in the Upper Gallery, Hoboken Historical Museum, May 7 to July 1, 2006 (was scheduled to end June 11, but it was extended.)
