Berthed in Hoboken, 2006, at one of the last finger piers from Bethlehem Steel Shipyard after being evicted from New York pier 25. It has been listed on the National Register since 1992. See notes.
Included as image 8 of 8 is a low-resolution historical view for reference purposes of this vessel in 1918-1919 when it was the U.S.S. Machigonne. Built in 1907 as the Machigonne, it was requisitioned for war service. It served in Boston harbor and after the war it was returned to civilian ferry service. It became the Yankee in the 1940's. It did not operate out of Hoboken. The vessel was once used in the New York area for service to Liberty Island among other duties.
