Color slide: Lackawanna Terminal, Hoboken, N.J., circa winter 1949-1950. 35mm mounted Kodachrome transparency. No photographer indicated. Title and date as transcribed from mount caption. Unadjusted scan on file along with adjusted and retouched file image.
View is northwest with the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad terminal in Hoboken at the right. Notable is that the original clock tower of the 1907 terminal is still present. (It had deteriorated over the years and a 1950 storm damaged it such that it was removed soon thereafter; rebuilt in 2008.) Most of the scene is of the Erie Railroad yards just to the south in Jersey City (now the Newport development.)
