Black-and-white photo of the 'Fletchers', an employee baseball team at the W. & A. Fletcher Company shipyard, Hoboken, N.J., no date, circa 1920-1928 (possibly later.) 8" x 10" wide print. Photographer is not indicated (possibly William Craig.) Reverse is blank except for penciled notation "G P 15." The men are not identified.
The team, 12 players, a manager and a ball boy or equipment manager, is seen posed with a raised drydock in the background.
The Fletcher Company operated until 1928 and from 1928-1938, it was United Drydock Co., Fletcher Plant. From 1938 onward, it was Bethlehem Steel Hoboken Yard. Research is necessary to find this team in published results from industrial leagues of the period.
