Photo 2: group of 16 boys and two men outside the the main entrance probably on Newark Street (near Bloomfield) outside the Jersy Observer newspaper offices. Several hold copies of an issue of the Jersey Observer newspaper with headline: Germans Near Vornezh. (Since the first of these summer camps started on June 29, this headline is appropriate as the Germans approached this city in late June and a defensive battle started on June 28, 1942 and thus helps to date this as probably the beginning of first camp on June 29, 1942.)
Inkstamped on front in lower border: Berg's, 206 13th St., Hoboken, New Jersey.
Reverse is blank.
Photo 3: candid photo of boys inside eating food and getting refreshments; at the left a boy is ladling a drink from a milk can. No photographer stated.
