Scope and ContentAdvertisement:: Venus 10 cent Pencils; My choice is.... American Pencil Co., Venus Building, Hoboken, N.J. Full-page color magazine ad as published in The Saturday Evening Post, June 21, 1930, page 90. Single leaf as removed from publication, 10-1/4" x 13-5/8" high. While the ad was promoting a ten cent pencil, there is a boxed promotion at center bottom for the Velvet Pencil which was five cents. Note the company is using the name here of American Pencil rather than the fuller name - American Lead Pencil.
