Photograph
Sepia-tone photo of five girls playing blind man's bluff, Hoboken, no date, circa 1880-1887. Carte-de-visite, 2-7/16" x 4-1/8" high. Photograph by Louis Nagel, 192 Washington Street [old number - modern no. 508], Hoboken. Reverse of mount has photographer's imprint. Girls are not identified.
Each one is well dressed plus three are wearing an apron or overdress. A typical old children's game. The smallest of the girls wears a blindfold
This image appears to have some of the same girls as found in photos 2011.005.0112 and .0127, other carte-de-visites from the Nagel Studio. These photos and another Nagel photo dated 1881 (2011.005.0128) were once apparently in the same photo album (donor stated they were not in an album when purchased, but were available at the same time.)
