Footed Pilsner beer glass with engraved decoration from R. Naegeli's Sons, Hoboken,n.d, ca. 1880-1900.

Footed Pilsner beer glass with engraved lettering and decoration; R. Naegeli's Sons, Hoboken, no date, ca. 1880-1900. Clear crystal glass, 8-7/8" high x 3-3/16" diameter at lip and base of foot; polished cut dimpling.
Main engraved decoration is a double-eagle shield within an oval with lettering band. At top of the band is engraved "Pilsner Beer." At the bottom is "Burgerliches Brauhaus Leitmertz." Continuing from the side of the oval is a horizontal decorative band encircling the glass about 1-3/8" from the lip. Reading right, it is engraved "R. Naegeli's Sons, Hoboken. - N. Y. Sole, Agents".
Rudolf Naegeli also operated a hotel in the 19th century at the corner of Hudson and Third Sts. and apparently the business was continued by his sons.
