Direction probably east -southeast. Photo could be at one of Bethlehem Steel's other shipyards in the New York area (Brooklyn or Staten Island). The derrick is working on the assembly or repair of an fixed base outdoor overhead traveling crane. The crane being worked on appears to travel over the water between piers. Note railroad freight cars to the right of it and two freighters in the far background. Cars are parked along the pier fence. The address on the derrick is 15 N. Moore St., N.Y.
