Photo 1: view southwest of the Hoboken High School athletic field east of Jefferson St. between Ninth and Tenth Streets. Seen are playing field, grandstands, football scoreboard; at the northeast corner of Ninth and Jefferson Streets sign on the building of the Bamboo & Rattan Works.

Photo 2: view southeast from apparently the same camera position as in photo 1, but his time showing the east edge of the athletic field, a running track, bordering on the fenced in playground that was part of Columbus park. Note multiple swing sets and slides. Among the trees beyond the playground is the pavillion building at the park.
In the upper right in the distance is the rooftop water tank which was on the former Wonder Bread bakery (Continenal Baking; earlier Schmalz) at Eighth Street between Clinton and Grand Streets; the distinctive roof profile of the several buildings that made up the former commercial baking operation can be seen.
