3-1/4" x 4-3/4" wide print. Photograph taken by donor Jack O'Brien (but not so marked.) Reverse has modern ink notations by O'Brien as noted below.
View show the Hudson Trust Company building at the northwest corner of 14th & Washington Sts. (100 Fourteenth St.) The bank was also called The Uptown Bank. (Present use is as the home of The Hudson Reporter, Inc., the parent publisher of The Hoboken Reporter and other area newpapers and publications.) If bank clock was correct, it was 1:45 P.M.
At the very top right corner in an oblique view is a sign on pole: Hudson Trust Company Drive-In Bank. This is the northeast corner of 14th & Washington.
Buses are seen parked north on the section of Washington above 14th (where it dead ends due to railroad tracks); it was commonly used as a layover spot for buses.
Signs for some businesses on 14th are seen including 14th St. Liquor.
On Fourteenth Street west of Washington Street, at the left edge, is an industrial building at 158 Fourteenth St. and has painted lettering just below the roof: XZIT. The 'B' to the right is the first letter in the word BRICKSEAL. The sign was for products of the Brickseal Refactory Coating Co. who used this building; 1969 telephone directory gives office as 56 Newark St. (Earlier address in Hoboken was 1029 Clinton St.) Affliated company was Xzit Brickseal Co. (Brickseal has also been seen as Brick-seal.)
O'Brien notes on back: 14th & Washington St., Bus Stop, Bank, Present Hudson Reporter Newspaper.
