McCloskey uses graphite to illustrate these enormous steamship propellers that sit in the yard, some of which were made here, while others were brought over to be refinished. Sculpted by Alexander Calder, who was believed to have found inspiration for the propellers when he was a young engineering student at the Stevens Institute.
