Scope and ContentNewspaper article: HOBOCAN HACKINGH The First House was Built in This City in 1640 By Director General Keift. And Leased to Aert Teunissen Van Putten Who Became the First Brewer in the State and "Hoboken the Place Where Beer Was Naturlized to Jerseymen." (Extracts from Winfield's History of Hoboken.) Published January 13, 1896 in a local newspaper (name not known, but display ads on reverse are Hoboken businesses.) A full height single column (scanned image is in overlapping sections.) The clipping was part of series of at least 14 extracts taken from Winfield's history and credited in the title as "Extracts from Winfield's History of Hoboken" starting with this one (see below.) This one is probably the second. They were all published in published in January and dated by the collectors, Matthias H. and May Georgia Taylor of 525 Garden St., in pencil or ink.
