DescriptionCabinet photograph of a woman and two children, Hoboken, no date, circa 1892-1899. 4-3/16" x 6-1/2" mount. Photograph taken by Magnus, Artistic Photographer, 520 Washington St., Hoboken, N.J. (blind imprint on front - see note below;, reverse imprinted.) The woman, probably the mother of the two children, is in dark dress; the children, apparently boys, are in sailor dress without hats or caps. The blind imprint on the front clearly, but incorrectly states the address as 820 rather than 520 Washington St. This same area does not have a monogram. Back is the same imprint as seen on cabinet photographs that have a CM monogram thus this is attributed to Conrad Magnus. There were two photographers in Hoboken using Magnus, Conrad and Rudolf. Rudolf Magnus items often stated as R. Magnus. ---- fashion / photography / studio
