5" x 7" image on 8" x 10" wide sheet (contact print from glass negative, 1984.) Photographer is not indicated, but possibly George Grantham Bain. Ex-collection Culver Pictures, Inc, with their markings on reverse: inkstamp; barcode label with categories; image or negative number inkstamp: 29969; penciled titling.
View is a scene of well-dressed people waiting on deck to debark the ship - note gangplank at the right. Hoboken was the American home port for the Scandinavian American Line and it is probable that this scene was at the Hoboken pier.
Negative notes at top of image: 818-3 Scandinavians on "United States" 6/10/09. Barcode label on reverse has categorization: Immigrants: Photos - Immigrants, Ellis Island, etc.
