Photograph
Real photograph postcard of Our Lady of Grace School group photo of girls with Mabel Bolles, Hoboken, no date, circa 1906.
3-7/16" high x 5-1/2" wide print (rppc). Photographer not indicated. Divided postcard back with Cyko stamp block (Cyko in outline letters.) Not used.
Mabel Bolles is kneeling third from left in the front. She was "perhaps 2nd grade" per description of scene provided by daughter Joan S. Dalton 2014. Other girls and man at right edge are not identified.
Mabel Bolles Sheehan (1898-1976), her memoir - archives 2014.055.0001.
She was born in Hoboken August 6, 1898.
View is east of the group posed in schoolyard at the back of the Clinton Street side of building. All are dressed in white, most with large bows in their hair, and the occasion may have been graduation (or graduating exercises as they were often termed at that time.) Judged by the apparent difference in ages (heights) of the girls, there is more than just the second grade class represented in this group.
School was at Willow Avenue and Fifth Street (and site went to Clinton St.)
