Haggadah. Passover Seder Service. Compliments of the Coffees of Maxwell House; Kosher for Passover. New Edition. No date, circa late 1940s.
The Haggadah was a religious manual used for the Jewish Passover holiday. The copy here was an edition of a promotional advertising item first issued by the company in 1932 (with an edition still offered by them as of 2013.) Hoboken was then the home of the largest Maxwell House Coffee plant of General Foods. It is likely that the work itself was produced in New York rather than Hoboken although it may be been distributed from here.
Softcover, 4-1/8" x 5-1/2" high, 64 pp., illustrated, plus covers. Text in English and Hebrew.
Inside back cover is an advertisement for the several of the General Foods coffee products including the photo depiction of cans and jars of Maxwell House, Yuban and Sanka. Also "Kosher- Parve for Passover" "All certified by Rabbi Hersch Kohn of New York."
Dating of this item is estimated and may be refined by the product depictions.
