Once part of Ted Conrad Collection and may have been published by the Hudson City Historical Society.
View is northwest of the Hudson River waterfront from about Tenth to Twelfth Streets; with the small sailing boats to the right and larger steam powered vessels to the right (a coastal steamer or dayliner; a sternwheel ferry or coastal steamer.)
Detail 1: The yacht club house at the right is on grounds that were part of Elysian Fields.
Detail 2: In the far right background is the Straus Cut Glass sign atop its building (L. Straus & Sons had a factory in Hoboken from May, 1894 until May 20, 1897. The factory was the entire west side of Hudson St. between 12th & 13th St. It was across the street from the new Machine Shop of the A.W. Fletcher shipyard. The Washington St. side of the block was 14 tenements. The factory and tenements were destroyed by fire in 1897 and the site burned for 34 days. Business also referred to as Macy-Strauss.)
