Archive
Baggage identication labels, fifteen, of the United States Lines, no date, circa 1968.
Printed paper, 3-1/2" diameter with gummed adhesive back; unused. All printed in two colors varying by class; each with single alphabetical designation (for identification by first letter of passenger's last name in each class). 15 each, shown in four groupings.
While the design has a vintage look, like the 1920s when the line was founded, it is not a reproduction of a logo or labels used in that era. It is held here for comparison purposes.
Logo used is the eagle-and-shield. Hoboken was the American home port for the line until about 1950.
