Object/Artifact
Badge: Societa' S. Donato, Hoboken, N.J. No date, circa 1910-1925. Circa 6-3/4" long (with fringe) x ca. 2-3/8" wide. Metal frame top (dull gold/tarnished brass) with pin back; with printed art (clasped hands) in frame; striped (green, white, red) front ribbon with dulled gilt stamped lettering and religious vignette; back is black plain ribbon with same stamp in silver gilt; gold fringe (worn, ragged remnants) along bottom.
Printed art in top frame is laminated or has a celluloid covering. Fabric is sewn with gold rope trim along the sides. It would appear that it was intended to be durable and used for several years.
Not known which church, religious society, feast or festival that this item was associated with other than that it was Italian (stripe colors and maker) and presumably Catholic.
Maker's label (printed paper with fabric backing) sewn in at bottom between front and back ribbons: Manufactured by Frank De Caro, Flags, Banners, Uniforms, Regalia, Badges & Society Goods, 169 & 171 Grand St., N.Y. Back of label has inkstamped serial number: 26246
