Collections Item Detail
Bottle, soda: 7up bottled by Gallery 7-up Bottling Co., Hoboken, N.J., n.d., ca. 1939-1948.
Object/Artifact
Bottle: 7up bottled by Gallery 7-up Bottling Company, Hoboken, N.J., circa 1939-1948. Green glass, crown top, seven fluid ounces, with applied color labeling in white and red; 8" high x 2-1/4" diameter. No cap.
This bottle was intended for return and re-use by the bottler and shows wear due to that.
Seven-Up design on the front is the "woman in swimsuit" with seven bubbles in the red field. This dates the front to 1939-1953. The back text, 'The "Fresh Up" Drink,' and its format and typefaces date it up to circa 1946-1948 so the item is probably from the 1939-1948 period. (See notes for source.)
Bottom is marked: G-94. Duraglas. 3 5. 9. (The "G" is probably a code for the bottler Galler.)
