Magazine advertisement: [Maxwell House Coffee plant] Experienced Engineering. The H.K. Ferguson Co., Engineers and Builders. (1938).
Full page black-and-white ad as published in unknown publication (Time magazine?; full page color ad on reverse for Seagram's Seven Crown Whiskies), no page number or date. Leaf 8-1/4" x 11-1/2" high as removed from publication. PDF on file.
Ferguson was the company building the coffee processing factory in Hoboken. The ad features a half-page aerial photograph of the plant in the early phases of construction which would place the date of the photo (and presumed publication) as 1938 (plant opened in the fall of 1939).
Aerial photo credited: Fairchild Aerial Surveys, Inc.
Captioned: Complete New Plant under Construction at Hoboken, N.J., for Maxwell House Coffee - General Foods Corporation.
View is west with Twelfth Street to the right, Hudson Street along the top to the intersection with Eleventh Street and River Road (upper left). A useful view of the development of this site into the largest coffee processing plant in the world at that time.
(All buildings are now demolished and site is home to residential buildings known as Maxwell Place.)
