DescriptionArchitect's scale, 12" flat, model Paragon 1393PR, made by Keuffel & Esser Company, (Hoboken, N.J.), no date, circa 1950-1960. Machined hardwood (boxwood) with applied white celluloid plastic rules; English measure -1/8" and 1/4"; black ruling; 12" scales; overall 12-3/4" long x 1-3/8" deep x 5/32" thick; beveled on opposite edges. Marked with model number, "Keuffel & Esser Co. N.Y." plus K&E logo and product line "Paragon." (Note: this item listed as Flat Paragon Scales, Architect's - Open Divided.) Date of this item may be earlier. K&E main offices and factory were in Hoboken during the period when this was manufactured.
