You may recognize Frank Hanavan from a recent Hoboken Girl post where he was plein air painting the cherry blossom trees on 10th Street. Frank is the people’s painter, setting up his easel on the street and capturing scenes of everyday city life. A Buffalo native, Frank has been living in the area since the early 1990’s. Frank shares that Hoboken has always been a lovely subject to paint. Among his accomplishments, he received a 2026 Finalist award from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Frank will be discussing his upcoming show, “Natural & Plus: New Paintings by Frank Hanavan,” which opens on June 21st from 2 PM – 5 PM. This is Frank’s sixth show at the Museum.
