Commemorative spoon: Trinity Church, Hoboken, N.J. No date circa 1900-1910. Sterling silver, 4-1/8" overall length; palmetto stem; engraved bowl. Marks at neck: Sterling; winged 'S' mark of manufacturer George W. Shiebler Co.
View of the church building at the northeast corner of Seventh and Washington Streets.
Note the lettering 'Hoboken, N.J.' in the bowl and some elements such as tree foliage are in relief. The church name is engraved.
See 2001.110.0003 for another souvenir spoon depicting Trinity Church, Hoboken made by the same company. It is a different pattern plus the engraved image and titling is significantly different. Stylistically that one appears to be earlier than the pattern seen here and has been given an estimaged date range of 1890-1900.

At this time it has not been determined which date this item was likely created for: 1893: 40th anniversary of church founding 1896: 40th anniversary of opening of church building 1903: 50th anniversary of church founding 1906: 50th anniversary of opening of church building George W.
