Sports jacket: Hoboken High School. North Hudson [Basketball] Champions (Hoboken, N.J.) 1963-1964. Belonged to team member John Meeks, captain of the basketball team.
Long sleeve, snap front, red wool with white leather sleeves and pocket trim; red/white elastic cuffs and waist; multiple embroidered applique lettering and patch only on back. Embroidered label of owner inside right near bottom: Meeks. Source / maker's label: Alden Athletic Wear, Inc., West Milford, N.J. [size] 42.
A varsity letter jacket for a championship team; school colors red and white. Applique lettering on back is red felt on white: Hoboken H.S. Large (8" diameter) basketball applique or patch in white and red lettered: No. Hudson Champions 63 64.

Although the school nickname was the Redwings, it does not appear on this jacket.

Note: 1962 is the year that a new high school building opened at 8th and Clinton Streets; the school reverted its earlier name, Hoboken High School, from Demarest High School which it used for about forty years.
