6-11/16" wide x 3-1/4" high. Single albumen print with two images mounted on board, each image was 2-15/16" high x 3" wide.
The view looking northeast at the gate shows a formally dressed man with the six children. None are identified, but the man is possibly Peter Lee who was an African-American employee ("family retainer") of the Stevens family.
The gate and gatehouse structures were constructed from the serpentine rock in the cliffs below Castle Point. This was the main entrance to the Stevens' estate which consisted of 25 walled-in acres.
