DescriptionDigital image of photo of the Hoboken Playgrounds Field Band marching in 300 block of Washington Street, Hoboken, no date, probably 1928. Original image was ca. 2-5/8" wide x 7/8" high. Photographer is not known. People are not individually identified. See photo catalog 2005.078.0148 for what appears to be the another print of the same image in a larger and less severely trimmed size. Julius Durstewitz is in this photo in foreground at the left. In the background are stores with one being Long's Hats which was at 318 Washington St. It appears the marchers are in the 300 block heading south. The date of this photograph is suggested by the other photo on this leaf which is dated May 1928 and shows the band in the same nautical uniforms. The parade was likely the Decoration (Americanization) Day parade and thus in late May or early June.
