Orange life preserver vest / jacket from the Hudson River ferry boat "Elmira" on its last run. It has a handwritten legend in black marker on two small outside panels, Hoboken, November, 1967.

Child size, Model No. 36. Sewn orange cloth with natural webbing ties; cork bricks sewn in pockets. Stenciled with size, manufacturer (Atlantic - Pacific Mfg. Co., Brooklyn, N.Y.), specifications, Coast Guard approval, etc. and 3 inspection ink stamps from 1964,. 1966 and one with illegible date. Circa 40" wide.
It is known that passengers were allowed to take the life jackets as a souvenir on the last run of the ferry on November 22, 1967.
