DescriptionGroup of ten black-and-white photos of a 1/16" scale model of Pennsylvania [Railroad] E-6 [steam locomotive with coal tender] "Atlantic" made by George J. Miller, circa late 1940s. Prints: 1 each 8" x 10" wide; 7 each 4" x 5" wide; 2 each 3-1/2" high x 5" wide. Photographer not stated, but probably Miller. Reverse of all are blank. None are captioned. His son, George J. Miller, stated in 2008 that his father made this model and "train model that came to Hoboken in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s." Photo 10 here is an image of a certificate of award to George J. Miller for First Prize, "best in the show," at the 20th Annual Exhibition of The New York Society of Model Engineers, Inc., February 1930 on the upper level of the Lackawanna Terminal in Hoboken.
