The parade celebrated the one hundredth anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Hoboken.
View is northwest of the float on Fourteenth Street approaching Washington St. A gas station at the northwest corner of Bloomfield and Fourteenth Streets is seen. At the right edge on the north side of 14th St. is 106 Fourteenth Street. A liquor store seen in the middle of the block is still there as of 2009.
The float has the sponsor name on the front: Central Laboratory. Franklin Baker, Maxwell House.
On the side: Better Living for More People Through Research. General Foods Salutes Hoboken "The Industrial Giant." (Exemplified by a giant man wearing a 'General Foods' coverall.) The City of Hoboken Corporate Seat is depicted twice.
Prop containers for Log Cabin Syrup, Baker's Coconut , Maxwell House Coffee and Sanka Coffee are seen.
At the middle of the float is a stylized model of the Maxwell House Coffee plant.
