Giant Wrecker for Lincoln Tunnel
This 17-ton four-motored emergency truck has been assigned the task of keeping traffic open in the New Lincoln Tunnel under the Hudson River at New York. The tunnel will be formally opened Dec. 21. Specially designed, the truck can be driven from either end, is capable of lifting 20 tons and can tow a disabled 70-ton truck rapidly. The truck carries fire fighting equipment.
