Observer Highway was called Ferry Street at that time.
The building at the right ran from Bloomfield to Garden Street and was the Public Service Coordinated Tranport car barn for it trolleys. Street level streetcar tracks are seen below the elevated tracks above Ferry Street for the Public Service Coordinated Transport. They went to the terminal on Hudson Place.
Washington Street is out of view to the right. The taller building at the left is the office building for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad freight warehouse and Railway Express Agency. Many automobiles are seen also was a group on the sidewalk to the right.
This photo is from an accession group that consists of photographs from Hoboken Police Department records. Discarded in the 1990s, the original documentary purpose of this photo is not stated or apparent.
