Photograph
Black-and-white photo of Newark Street window of State of New Jersey, Division of Employment Security, Hoboken, no date, circa 1960s.
3-1/4" x 4-11/16" wide. Photographer not indicated, but it was probably Jack O'Brien of Hoboken. Reverse has modern holographic ink notation by O'Brien: Bank Reflection of Clam Broth Sign, Nwk & River St; also inkstamped number 22 of print processor.
View is south of the windows just east of 41 Newark St. (Haven Savings Bank). An arrow indicates Entrance on River St. [86 River St.]
The famous rooftop pointing hand neon sign of the Clam Broth House is seen reflected in the window. The sign is on the two-story building at the northwest corner of Newark and River Streets. (As of 2012 the sign was unused as the Clam Broth House was no longer in business; the sign was in poor condition and the building was under rehabilitation.)
