Notes: archives 2012.004.0054 ==== To the Honorable The Mayor and Council of the City of Hoboken Gentlemen We the undersigned members of the Hoboken Section of the Hudson County Artillery as well as the undersigned citizens and residents of Hoboken do hereby recommend to your honorable body the celebration of the day July 4th of the Independence of the U.S. of America by granting to the above Section of Artillery a salute firing of 25 cannon shots at 5 o'clock A.M. and 25 cannon shots at 12 o'clock M. on said day, to take place in front of Hudson Street between 4th and 5th Streets on [crossed out text: the heights of the empty lots of the Hob. Land & Imprt. Co. and not near any buildings.] Hudson Square. The cost for the requisite ammunition and for which we beg your honorable body to pass a resolution will amount to Fifty Dollars.
