Notes: Archives 2012.004.0082 ==== Mayor's Office Hoboken, Sept. 2/73 [1873] To the Hon[orable] the Council of the City of Hoboken Gentlemen In compliance with your resolution of the 16th ultimo. referring all matters relative to the act, creating the board of Drainage Commissioners of Hoboken and Township of Weehawken to me, authorizing me by said resolution to employ such legal talent as I deemed most advisable and best qualified to examine into the subject as presented for your action there on. As will appear I immediately placed the matter in the hands of the Hon L W Scudder of Jersey City, a gentleman of very high standing in the state and one known to be perfectly reliable and straight forward in dealing with all matters submitted to him for his professional action. I therefore submit and place in your hands the opinion and advice as obtained from the above source - for such action as in the judgement of your Honorable body but calculated to serve the interests of the tax payers of this City.
