Photograph
Cabinet photograph of three women and a baby, four generations of a family, posed in photographer's studio, Hoboken, no date, ca. 1875-1887.
Photograph is one of several of this family whose fuller name is unknown. See related.
A very uncommon image with four generations of the female members of a family seen in a group. While their relationships are not stated is known that the oldest member is Great-Grandmother Lancy at the right who has been identified from penciled text on back and in related photos.
To the left is apparently her daughter (or possibly daughter-in-law); standing - her grand-daughter and the apparent mother of the great-grandchild seen at the center (again, the mother and child are seen in related photo).
4-1/4" wide x 6-1/2" photographer's mount; gilt beveled edges. Photograph taken by L.[Louis] Nagel, 192 Washington St. (old street number prior to 1892; modern no. 508), Hoboken. Imprint is only on reverse plus modern pencil notation: Gr. Grandma Lancy.
