----
At this time, United States Lines had their General Offices at 45 Broadway, New York.
A timetable or schedule for this line whose fleet was former ocean liners that had been troopships for the U.S. Army Transport Service in World War I. Most of them served that duty in Hoboken when it was the Port of Embarkation and, later, Debarkation. Many retained the same wartime name or reverted to their original designation after being converted back to civilian use. They were under the control of the United States Shipping Board.
Notably the Leviathan was now part of the fleet (see list below) and also worth noting, it was the only ship in the fleet that did not run to Bremen, Germany as seen on the schedule. Built as the S.S. Vaterland for the Hamburg American Line which used Hoboken has its American home port. The ship was interned in Hoboken shortly after the start of World War I in Europe and confiscated in 1917 when the U.S. entered the war. It was then operated as the U.S.S. Leviathan (U.S. Army Transport Service) from the Port of Embarkation, Hoboken, 1917-1919. Decommissioned as the Leviathan in October 1919, it became the S.S. Leviathan under the U.S. Shipping Board and United States Lines.
