B+W photo postcard of man and woman posed at a Coney Island booth, N.Y., 1914.
Photograph
Black-and-white photographic postcard of man and woman posed at a Coney Island booth ("Coney Island Express"), New York, 1914.
Real photo postcard (rppc), 3-3/8" x 5-1/2"; divided back, PMC stamp box; unused and unposted. Photographer not indicated. Reverse had penciled date: 1914.
The man and woman are not identified. This card came from the collections of the former United Decorating Company. The company did sell vintage postcards in its later years, but as this one was held in the archives of past work done by them it suggests a personal association.
The Kirchgessner family owned that business. The man may possibly be William Kirchgessner; the woman may possibly be Emma Kirchgessner, both children of the company founder, Robert Kirchgessner.
