President, Local 306, ILA, Hoboken. 1953. As of Jan 3., 1953, was in prison. The character "Johnny Friendly" (played by Lee J. Cobb) in the motion picture "On the Water" is reputedly based on him. Also in the bottom row at the right is John J. Grogan, then a Commissioner of Hoboken; to his right is Mayor Fred DeSapio of Hoboken.
