DescriptionCustomer counter from TD Banknorth building at 101 Washington Street, Hoboken, built 1929; removed in October 2008. Brass and other metals, glass; electric fixtures (2 medium screw incandescent; 1 - 36" fluorescent tube); 96" long x 22" deep x 66" overall height; top of counter 42-1/2" from floor. This desk was one of the original furnishings of the bank structure built in 1929 for the Hoboken Bank for Savings (established 1857) which moved into its new building from its previous main location at 84 Washington St. (diagonally across the intersection of Newark and Washington Streets.) The fluorescent fixture (slimline tube) was not original; probably installed 1970s or later.
