Notes: Sometime in the 1970s, Hoboken Bank for Savings was renamed as the Washington Savings Bank [1975 telephone directory: "(formerly Hoboken Bank for Savings)"] By the 1990s, it had became a branch of Hudson United Bank. Circa 2007, Hudson United was purchased by TD Banknorth and was renamed as a TD Banknorth branch. In the fall of 2008, TD Banknorth had other branches in Hoboken as well as it now owned Commerce Bank which had a branch in Hoboken in a historic bank structure only a block away at Newark and Hudson Streets. TD Banknorth announced in late October 2008 it would now operate TD Banknorth and Commerce Bank under the new brand name of TD Bank. The building at 101 Washington was no longer needed and was closed in October 2008. Most major furnishings were removed or discarded. Status: OK Status By: dw Status Date: 2008-11-05
